Points of Pride

  • Frog Checkmark
One of Floral City Elementary's most distinctive features is our remarkable history. Education has existed on or near the same site since the 1880s, making it one of the oldest continuously used school locations in Citrus County. The current campus includes portions of a 1941 Works Progress Administration (WPA) building with original oak floors and woodwork that have been carefully preserved. While many schools have relocated to newer campuses, Floral City Elementary remains in the heart of the historic town, creating a unique connection between students and our community's heritage. Unlike many larger elementary schools, Floral City Elementary is deeply woven into the identity of our town itself. Our school emphasizes partnerships among students, families, staff, and the community, with regular family engagement events and active collaboration between parents and our school. Our close-knit atmosphere gives many students the experience of attending a true neighborhood school where generations of local families have attended.
  • Frog Checkmark
Our school has maintained a favorable student-to-teacher ratio (approximately 17–18:1), allowing for personalized instruction and strong relationships between staff and students.
  • Frog Checkmark
Perhaps our school's greatest achievement over the past two decades has been maintaining our reputation as a close-knit, family-centered elementary school where students receive individualized attention, families are actively involved in school activities, staff members build lasting relationships with students and the community, and a positive school culture emphasizes leadership, character, and academic growth.
